Great Fun at Grand Friends’ Day
Grandparents and friends from near and far packed Braemar to hear their young friends sing a varied program of folk songs and melodies on the theme of America the Beautiful. Red, white, and blue were the colors of the day as young students sang and paraded around the gym with their upper school partners, waving flags.






Gain at GUS is an academic enrichment program for scholastically talented, underserved students in the fourth and fifth grades at local area public schools. Fifth grader Jack Norton was one of 6 students in grades 5-8 chosen from over 400 nominees around the country to take part in the Mark Twain Young Authors Workshop in Hannibal, MO, for a week this summer. Upper schoolers enjoyed an exciting presentation on Monday by The Weather Man, NECN’s Matt Noyes. He answered many burning questions about the weather, lightning, and his job. Watch out for GUS on NECN this week, or on Matt’s web page. http://www.mattnoyes.net/

The first grade will start collecting books after March break for their annual book drive. Over vacation, if you happen to be doing your spring cleaning, look for slightly used children’s and young adult books. We will be providing you with dates soon.
