Coming to a Theater Near You!

The Diversity Committee is excited to invite you to a screening of the documentary film, Shooting Beauty. The 62 minute film will be followed with a question and answer session with the filmmaker, George Kachadorian.

“While a picture is worth a thousand words, the film Shooting Beauty — the tale of photographer Courtney Bent, who gave cameras to disabled adults in hopes of giving them a voice — will leave you speechless. It is more than a film; it is an emotional transformation, and one not to be missed… [a] masterpiece…”

This event is just one part of the committee’s ongoing Upper School Disability Awareness Series and is open to the entire GUS community.

Melissa Buchanan, co-chair of the Diversity Committee,  saw the film at the Portsmouth Film Festival and immediately wanted to share it with the GUS community. It has been winning awards across the country at film festivals in Boston, Atlanta, Phoenix and beyond. We are especially privileged to have the opportunity to hear directly from the film’s creators about their inspiring project.

Q and A with filmmakers immediately following the film.
