Our after-school programs promise hands-on learning and fun.
Glen Urquhart School after-school programs are designed to give children from GUS, and across the North Shore, a supervised setting to explore and grow through enriching activities. Programs are led by GUS faculty and local vendors. We offer multiple week sessions and one-day workshops to fit your schedule!

Soccer Shots is an engaging children’s soccer program with a focus on character development. Our caring team positively impacts children’s lives on and off the field through best-in-class coaching, curriculum and communication.
We will enjoy a pizza lunch, Wildlife Program with Live Birds, activities with kites, catapults, parachute games, and other outdoor fun.

Beep, beep! Join us for a culinary road trip across America. Get ready to taste our way through our country's regional flavors as we head on this sweet and savory chef's adventure.
Jazz-Hop is a fun and funky combination dance class of Jazz and Hip Hop! Movers will have fun learning about the technique and terminology of these two energetic styles.
As a Zen Martial Artist, you can build Self Esteem and Self Defense. This class envelopes the dynamic and powerful movements of a martial arts into the peaceful practices of Mindfulness Meditation. And you will improve body flexibility and balance.

An Upcycle Adventure class for beginner to intermediate sewists. More than 15 million tons of used textile waste is generated each year in the United States with 80% ending up in our land fills. We show you how to the sewing machine to become a better steward of our planet one stitch at a time!
Working with clay can be a very satisfying experience. Students will enjoy spending Saturday mornings exploring a variety of hand-built clay and glazing techniques. Finished projects may include both decorative and functional works that students and families can display for years to come.
Want to build a house? Just kidding! But how about making some other objects out of wood? Do you want to use a hammer, drill, saw, and all sorts of wood tools and learn the basics of how things are made with wood?
Join Kestrel Educational Adventures as they help you explore and learn how to survive in nature. In addition to building fires, purifying water, finding food and making shelters we will share stories around survivors and work on our own storytelling each week around the campfire as we design characters that will always survive!
Come join Elliott Buck for a fun-filled yoga and mindfulness class. This class is designed to help kids relax, reduce stress, laugh, develop self-confidence, improve flexibility, and challenge themselves after school.
The aim of the art workshop is to strengthen each student’s visual vocabulary and abilities. A wide variety of disciplines will be offered, including painting, drawing, assemblage, and mixed media.

We understand that sometimes families need a little leeway with their schedules. EXPLORE @GUS participants may take advantage of our aftercare program before and after their session at no additional cost. Aftercare is a supervised recreational time that runs 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Aftercare participants are given outside playtime, and enjoy board games, artwork, or homework time. We provide a light snack (participants may bring their own NUT FREE snack if desired).
Registration is online and the registration deadline is one week before the program begins. Minimum class size is 6 students. Register early to secure your space! An email will be sent out one week before the class starts with more details.
