Welcome to the GUS Summer Program 2014

Join us for a special summer program at GUS! Our long-standing tradition of combining educational, hands-on workshops with easygoing summertime fun for children ages 4 to 14 continues. Our camp atmosphere is noncompetitive, creative, inquisitive, playful, and relaxed. We welcome children from schools all over the North Shore and beyond.

New this Year! Two new workshops for middle school students, “The Art of Leadership” and “The Art and Craft of Songwriting,” taught by Head of Glen Urquhart School Dave Provost. An all new program for children ages 4 to 5 taught by Joy Sullivan. A new afternoon option “campus kids” for children ages 4 to 8 and many new specialty workshops for all ages.

Our Campus

We are located on twenty-three acres of woodlands and fields in Beverly Farms, just one mile from beautiful West Beach. We take trips to the beach and play on our outdoor basketball court, playground and play structure, athletic fields, and in our air-controlled gymnasium. In summer, we offer complete access to classrooms, science labs, computers, SMART Boards, sky-lit art studio and kiln, kitchens, and auditorium.

We will open registration on February 1.

Our Teachers and Staff

Staff members are chosen for their experience, sense of humor, enjoyment of children, and commitment to making our summer program fun, inspiring, and safe for everyone. Professional teachers lead our morning workshops assisted by responsible adult counselors. Adult-to-participant ratios average 1-7. We employ a full-time nurse. Our Philosophy

We encourage children to discover the best within themselves and others, to treat everyone with kindness and respect, and to have a safe and fun-filled summer!

What Makes Glen Urquhart’s Summer Program Special?

• Expert, accomplished teachers who will engage your children’s creativity, curiosity, and intellect in specialized workshops;

• Afternoons full of surprises—playing at the beach, on the field, in the gym, or immersed in art, each day offering new discoveries of friendship and fun;
