Hour of Code at GUS: December 5-9
The Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer science during the week of December 5-9 in celebration of Computer Science Education Week. Hour of Code activities for GUS students are designed to demystify computer programming and show that anyone can learn the basics of coding. GUS students in grades K-5 and upper school will learn to code this week along with thousands of students from around the world. This is a special week for math and technology teachers to help students focus on coding or programming skills at a young age to promote mathematical thinking, programming skills, and understanding the many ways that coding is used in our lives. Successful students receive an HoC Certificate of Completion. In some grades, coding classes and robotics activities will also continue this winter.
