"Nature is not a place to visit, it is home.” Gary Snyder

In Natural Architects, children will use their love for wildlife and the outdoors to research and discover patterns, textures, colors, and designs found in nature. With nature as their guide, students will learn how sustainable modern home building captures a respect for nature and its surroundings. Students will learn about designs from both animals and humans and fuse this knowledge to create innovative home models using sustainable materials of their own. Mathematical skills such as scaled drawings, geometry, measurement, and symmetry will be explored as it fits into each day’s topic. Final projects will be celebrated to highlight children’s inspiration and individual creativity.
