Geological Time in the Greenhouse

In fifth grade theme class (science and social studies), students headed out to the greenhouse on Friday. Surrounded by glass windows from ground to sky, students discussed time in terms of the rotations of the Earth, Moon, and Sun. Fifth grade is studying geologic time and the history of the land. As part of this study, they also recently created a large geologic timeline on the playing field to demonstrate how humans have not been on the Earth for a very long time relative to Earth's history.
