Why is recess so important?
We LOVE recess at GUS, and not just because it's FUN. Research has shown that when kids have at least 20 minutes of recess they become more attentive and productive in class.
Recess is important for student's wellbeing - both physically and emotionally - and reinforces lessons learned in the classroom. Play helps build skills like collaboration, creative thinking, problem-solving, conflict resolution, among others!
