GUS Student Artwork Honored in NOAA 2019 Marine Endangered Species Art Contest

The 2019 Marine Endangered Species Art Contest highlights endangered and threatened species, using students artwork to showcase their knowledge and commitment to protecting these endangered animals

Students from across the country were invited to submit entries. This year, NOAA received 452 entries from 21 schools!  We are thrilled to have a number of GUS students selected, including:

  • Alex Stanley (grade 1) and James Daoust (grade 1) have been chosen as winners

  • Hugh Cancel (grade 1), Mason Mercaldi (grade 1), and Aoife Bartok (grade 4) have been chosen for Honorable Mention

  • Dario Verdugo (grade 4) and Rhoads Kent (grade 4) were selected for a special display in the NOAA gallery in Gloucester

The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 23, 4:00 to 4:30 p.m., and will streak live on the NOAA facebook page.
