Hatching Chicks!
Our first grade classroom has been filled with the sounds of “cheeping” lately.
In early May the class incubating chick eggs as they kicked off their 'Hatching Chicks' project, learning about the different stages of the 21-day incubation period. Over Memorial Day weekend, the chicks began to make their way out into the world - and the class was excited to welcome 5 baby chicks into their classroom. Using collaboration and consensus-building skills, the first graders quickly agreed on names for each of the chicks: Red Eye, Banana, Cookie, Debbie and Maple.
