Glen Urquhart School announced it will offer eight weeks of full and half-day day camp and enrichment programs starting on June 24 and it will once again partner with vendors from across the North Shore to enhance the camper experience.
“Summer@Gus” vendors include Chess Wizards, Coast-to-Coast Paddle, Empow Studios Tech Camp, Kestrel Educational Adventures, Mini Movers, Seamsters Local, and Taste Buds Kitchen. The 23-acre GUS campus, located in Beverly Farms, will engage campers with a brand-new playground and an outdoor adventure program showcasing a “whale watch” platform, team-building opportunities, and “Escape the Forest” challenges. The campus features woodland trails, sport fields, a Gaga Ball pit, basketball courts, outdoor classrooms, greenhouse, gymnasium, stage, art studios, and an “Idea Garage” makerspace.
With experienced staff and teachers leading four, age-specific small groups, campers can enjoy a safe variety of activities enhanced by theme days and special events. Expanded options for 2019 will also include field trips and a choice program for older campers, and options for afternoon swimming and special activities. Half-day enrichment opportunities will include options in the arts, technology, science explorations, cooking, trail running, sewing, volleyball and babysitting certification.
