Announcing the GUS Together Fund
Dear GUS Community,
We hope you and your family are safe and doing well during these trying times. As the current pandemic continues to impact all of us, we find strength in the Glen Urquhart School community.
Our faculty and staff have risen up in these past weeks, working tirelessly to ensure the social and emotional well-being of our students, and providing not only an introduction to distance learning, but a much needed sense of normalcy and community as well. Now more than ever, they are focused on delivering a continuity of experience that our families need. Thanks to their efforts, GUS distance learning has felt anything but distant.
We know many of you are being personally impacted, and that some of you have suffered loss. We hope you’re able to find comfort and support from the GUS community. We are here for you. So many of you, while facing your own challenges, have also asked how you can help others at this time. We are humbled and grateful to be part of such a caring and compassionate family of current and former parents, grandparents, students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
The effects of COVID-19 on the financial well-being of the school and GUS families have been significant. In response to meeting challenges created by the current health crisis, we have created the GUS Together Fund. The goal of this fund is to help retain current students whose families have been profoundly impacted by this pandemic, and to help the school manage unexpected change in the wake of this crisis. While all schools and businesses are being affected, the GUS mission, which brought so many of you to GUS, is to lead the way in building a diverse community of students. This fund will be critical to continuing that work.
GUS can be the most generous and caring of communities, especially in times of need. Time is of the essence for some of our families. If you are able to support the fund, please consider a making a donation.
From May 13 to May 15, we will host a virtual campaign to further support the GUS Together Fund. May this be an opportunity for all of GUS to build hope and come together.
