Letter from HOS
Dear GUS Community,
I just wanted to take a moment and thank you all for your support while I process the loss of my mother. As I mentioned at the beginning of the school year, my father passed in July, so there is some comfort in believing they are together again. While it has been a very difficult time for my family, these last two weeks especially, I continue to be buoyed by the kindness of the GUS community. There are no adequate words to express my gratitude for the love and support. Just know it truly means the world to me.
I am working to listen to my head, heart, and body as I adjust to a new normal. While I am not at school, the admin team will continue to keep things moving along. I am so very fortunate to have such a great group of professionals behind me and I know everything is in good hands.
I am looking forward to returning and especially for our work on the new strategic plan. I have big things planned for GUS and look forward to sharing a vision for GUS’ future that is true to the school’s roots, but also pushing us in exciting new directions through important goals and objectives.
Again, thank you for all the love and support. As always, GUS and the GUS community give me the strength to trust and go forward. I am so very grateful.
Sincerely,
Gretchen Forsyth
Head of School
