Upper School Clubs are in Full Swing, with Nine Different Offerings This Term
Clubs are a favorite among sixth to eighth grade students, who enjoy the opportunity to explore extracurricular activities and to bond with their peers in a fun and engaging way. GUS intentionally creates opportunities for kids to connect around common interests. According to Director of Upper School Gretchen Forsyth, “Clubs have proven to be a great occasion for students to connect with peers. The positive relationships that result from finding people who share your interest and passions absolutely affect the classroom experience.” Students and faculty both present club ideas. The students vote for their top three choices, and the clubs are formed and filled accordingly. Current winter clubs include:
History - Jeffrey Bartsch
Running - Julie Wyman and Zander Auerbach
Dance - Katie Blynn
Sports - Cori Russo
Board games - Chris Draper
Baking - Maureen Twombly
