Imaginary Animals: Exploring Movement in Kindergarten
Kindergarteners have been busy studying motion in their virtual science classroom.
Motion in humans, motion in animals, and motion in nature. They learned about how action starts in the brain, moving through the nervous system to trigger movement in the muscles and bones. The Imaginary Animal Project calls upon each student’s imagination, while encouraging them to think about what body parts and features their animal might need to facilitate the types of movement they imagine. How many legs does your animal have? Does it swim? Does it have wings? Where does it live? What does it eat?
