Navigating the In-beTWEEN Years

Hello everyone,

I hope that your conference was a nice opportunity to hear about your child’s success and see the ways in which their growth is supported. Our teachers are committed to knowing your child and working to bring out the best in them as learners regardless of where they are in their educational pursuits + journeys as middle school-aged students.

From shifting friendships to testing independence, even GUS students are bound to face many of the typical adolescent challenges, which can often be hardest on parents and caregivers. Sometimes it can feel like these moments come out of nowhere, but at GUS, we’re here to help students and families navigate the ups and downs of these tween years.

We are proud to partner with families in sharing a robust set of resources to help inform and address these “inbeTWEEN years.” Please stay tuned for more information, and in the meantime, be sure to mark your calendars for these upcoming events:

  • Dec 11: Is this Normal? - A panel discussion that will address adolescent development in the tween years

  • Jan 10: Community Round Table -  Building your parent support network through community conversations.

We look forward to you sharing your perspective and experience as we explore these transitional years!

Warmly,

Brad Belin
