Registration Open: EXPLORE@GUS

We are excited to launch registration for EXPLORE@GUS AfterSchool Enrichments for semester 2.

All programs will begin the week of February 3 and run through April 15, 2025. Programs will run from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. There will be no program on Monday, February 17, Tuesday, February 18, or March 10-21. GUS Families already registered for AfterSchool should reach out to auxiliary@gus.org for the reduced price.

New for spring semester - EXPLORE@GUS is open to the public! Please help spread the word - and join us at GUS after school this semester.

The deadline to register for EXPLORE@GUS is January 31, 2025.

Checkmate Academy

Learn strategy and competition through this interactive enrichment. Students will participate in Chess matches, tournaments, and learning demonstrations. Taught by facilitators from Checkmate Academy, each class is designed to increase the knowledge and interest of this thought provoking game. This enrichment is for all skill sets and is an incredible introductory course for those wanting to learn! Checkmate!

Snack Attack

Students will create a fun, kid-friendly no-bake snack. Each week a new themed snack will be created using simple ingredients, so students can continue to enjoy their snacks at home time and time again! Students will receive recipe cards and a chance to enjoy their snack in class or take it home for later. Allergies will be accommodated, and the following skills will be utilized: listening/following directions, creativity, responsibility, and measuring.

North Shore Glass

Join us as a facilitator from North Shore Glass introduces students to showcase their creativity and art through the medium of glass. Each week, students will learn different techniques to create bracelets, trinkets, and even small bowls and vases. Creations are made on campus, brought to life at the North Shore Glass facility, and returned to students the following week.

Character Arts & Crafts

Join a facilitator from Creativities Studio for a weekly themed arts & crafts class based on children's favorite TV shows, movies, and characters. Past themes for a variety of age groups have included Movies - Disney‘s Frozen, Harry Potter, Disney’s Descendants, Despicable Me, Toys - Emojis, LOL Dolls, LEGO Friends, Book characters - Peppa Pig, Elephant & Piggie, The Gruffalo, and Games - Minecraft, Roblox characters, to name a few. Theme requests are always welcome & considered.

Mini Movers Studio: Be Our Guest!

Be our guest for this magical session of dance! Each enchanting class will include a full dance class, learning choreography, and doing fun movement games and activities. Your dancer will get "Tangled" up in fun memories during this Dance It Out session!
