A Solstice Message from GUS
The Winter Solstice is my favorite event at GUS.
Every year, my heart dances with joy as our school family comes together to celebrate this special day. How reassuring it is to know, even when the nights feel long and the world is cloaked in darkness, brighter days are just around the corner. This knowledge is like a cozy blanket of hope, wrapping us up tight and giving us the resolve to be brave during moments of difficulty.
Every year the Winter Solstice reminds us that change is inevitable and not to give up. Just like the sun rises each morning, bringing warmth and light, we know that no matter how dark it may seem, the light will always return. At Glen Urquhart, our vision is our bright light, always showing us the way, guiding our decisions, and filling our days with purpose and possibility.
Our school’s vision is a magical promise for the future, encouraging the next generation to dream big and do better. This season, we find comfort and joy in the work, which brings bright smiles to our faces and warmth to our hearts. Our amazing students are like little rays of sunshine, lighting up every day with their curiosity, kindness, and desire to take care of each other and our planet. They remind us once again that there is always a reason to hope that tomorrow will be better than today.
