February Message from HOS
February at Glen Urquhart School has been a month of community, connection, and celebration.
We kicked off the month with Winterfest! This action-packed evening event had something for everyone. From escape rooms to s'mores to dance parties, great fun was had by all. This event certainly warms the heart during the cold winter months and reminds us how special our community truly is. Valentine's Day brought another opportunity to celebrate community. Special thanks to our Parents Association for all the treats for teachers and to our second graders for spreading their heartfulness not just throughout the school, but throughout the community! We even enjoyed our first snow day of the year, a welcome break for students and staff alike. Who doesn’t love a snow day?
Our midyear conferences highlighted the crucial importance of partnership and open communication between families and the school. Thank you to all the families who attended. As always, please remember that you don’t need an invitation to come in and talk. Conferences are great, but feel free to reach out anytime something is on your mind. With that in mind, please remember to share your feedback by completing the Family Satisfaction Survey. Your input is invaluable.
Looking ahead, campus will continue to be abuzz with activity. The Boar Cup is happening next week, followed by the much-anticipated Spring Break! This is also admissions season. Many of our 8th graders will be awaiting secondary school decisions, and GUS has also been sending out many welcome packages to new students. Make sure you read the Re-Enrollment reminders and let us know of any potential changes. As always, we are so grateful that you have chosen GUS.
And finally, be sure to save the date for the Spring Auction + Gala! The night promises to be a wonderful event and the perfect opportunity for us all to come together to celebrate community and connection in true GUS fashion!
We appreciate your continued partnership and support. Now, let’s think spring!
