Faculty Updates
This fall, we welcome new faculty members Julia Bugeau-Heartt as our new school nurse, (welcome back) Jen Mallette ‘87 as science curriculum coordinator, and Amanda Pastel as upper school science teacher. You can learn more about each of them in this post. Sandy Thoms, who celebrated 35 years at GUS this spring, will be retiring at the end of the school year. Sandy's dedication to GUS is unparalleled, and we look forward to celebrating her tenure throughout the 2023-2024 school year!
Additionally, we are excited to share some changes to our faculty roles, as follows:
Sam Kourtz will join Polly Pfau as preschool teacher;
Erin Koeplin joins Sandy Thoms as kindergarten teacher;

Amanda Pastel will teach fifth and eighth grade science;
Molly McCoy will continue on as our permanent upper school music teacher and will also take over direction of the 8th Grade Musical.
