Influenza A Cases at GUS

Dear GUS Familes,

Flu A cases are greatly rising in the overall community and here at GUS.

As a reminder, please keep your child home if they show any flu symptoms such as: cough, fatigue, headache, chills, body aches, fever, etc. Students should remain home until they are fever-free for 24+ hours without the use of fever-suppressing medication (Tylenol/Ibuprofen) and their symptoms are improving. The CDC recommends masking for 5 days following the break of the fever, so masks are strongly encouraged indoors when your child returns to school.

I am attaching below some additional information about the flu from the CDC. Note, the best prevention is getting the flu vaccine, frequent handwashing and covering coughs/sneezes.

Please reach out with any questions or concerns.

Thank you,
