Grade Three is a year of personal discovery, as students develop a stronger sense of identity and community, and begin to expand their social awareness. Our third grade theme, ‘Where Am I Going?,’ allows us to explore the world, beginning with our classroom and expanding outwards in ever broadening concentric circles into the world at large.

Each day begins with yoga to calm and focus eager minds, and concludes with a reflection or meditation - sometimes lead by a student. So of course, the Red Sox won the World Series, and that is very exciting, but sadly that’s not what I want to focus on this morning. Over the past few days, people have been attacked: attacked for being Jewish, for being black, and even for being leaders in the Democratic party. It’s hard to think of these things happening here in the United States. Very hard.
