Why Teach Latin?

I have always loved school and learning for its own sake, and this is the kind of philosophy and way of thinking that I try to cultivate with my middle school-aged students. The Service and Leadership Trip at GUS is a rite of passage for soon-to-be graduating eighth grade students. Over the years, locations have ranged from Guatemala and the Dominican Republic to Navajo Nation, Appalachia, Florida, and, more recently, to the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Washington, D.C.
